For KDE 4.94, Dolphin 2.1:

Hello, I recently installed a new KDE distro (Fedora 17), and I am noticing additional unwanted categories in the "Places" panel on the left. The two categories are called, "Recently Accessed" and "Search For", and can be seen in the following image:

My main distro is also Fedora 17 using KDE4.94 and Dolphin 2.1, but the two unwanted categories are not present (I can't remember them ever being there, but maybe I pulled them at some time in the past).

So, how can I go about removing the unwanted entries from the "Places" panel on the left? I looked through all of the menu entries, but didn't find any way to customize this panel (other than adding entries by alt-clicking on the panel itself).

Thanks for any help with this!

These categories are new in KDE 4.9, and are only shown if Nepomuk is enabled.

You can hide them by enabling the "Hide ..." checkbox in the right-click menu of each item. Yes, unfortunately, you would have to do this for each item separately, i.e., 8 times.

Hey thanks freining, I appreciate that. Of all the things I tried, I didn't try hiding the things I was trying to hide. It is had been a snake it would have bitten me!

It looks the way I like it again, thanks mate!
