I've just been forced to use windows for the first time in a few years. Most of it feels very similar to any Linux distro. The one thing that drives me crazy, is how much the file manager sucks compared to Dolphin. I keep longing for an equivalent of Dolphin's ctrl+I filter bar, or split view. Similarly, on Dolphin, connecting to webdav (ownCloud) is buttery smooth. I've tried many times on Windows with guides, all to abject failure. Life is utterly painful without what I came to expect as basic functions on Chakra Linux. Now they may exist somewhere in there, but I searched around specifically looking for them and couldn't find them. With Dolphin I didn't even know to look for these features, and I still discovered them easily. Currently, I do about 95% of my windows file management using DOlphin on Windows, as it is just so much easier. The other 5% is just when Dolphin runs into some permissions problem and won't let me delete files that Explorer will. I suspect this is just because Dolphin on Windows is older and less tested than on Linux. Still, I just wanted to write a post to say congratulations and thankyou for coming up with such a superior file manager than even what the operating system provider was able to.
