Would it be possible to add a second set of controls above the view pane when in split mode? It would make it look similar as to if you opened 2 instances of Dolphin and tiled them.

It's not really straightforward to implement something like this, and to be honest, I'm not really sure if such a changed would be appreciated by many users. I think I would find it very confusing to see a second toolbar appear or disappear every time I press F3. Moreover, it would make Dolphin's behavior with respect to toolbars inconsistent with other KDE apps which use split views (like Kate and Konqueror), so this should either be implemented everywhere or nowhere.
