Bonjour,
It is surely not the right word, but I call the arrows and button on the right of a window frame an "elevator": it moves up and down the list of folders or files. In the upper left frame of Dolphin where all Kubuntu folders are displayed, the elevator arrows do not operate well: the list of folders moves up or down very very slowly. How can I fix that ? The problem is the same for the lower left frame displaying peripherals and short cuts. In the right frame, where list of files is displayed, the elevator operates well. I use KDE / Dolphin 4.14.2 . Just to ensure there is no confusion, could you please provide a screenshot with a clear indicator of the area of Dolphin you're referring to?

Those arrows more or less by definition scroll the smallest step size there is. If you want to scroll more quickly, drag the scrollbar or use the mouse wheel.
Greetings!

Bonjour,
I understand it is the smallest step size, but, obviously, it is much too small compare to what happens in all other applications and in the right frame of Dolphin ... Pierre |

Does this behaviour also occur in the file picker (which appears when you Open/Save a file in KWrite for instance)?

Bonjour,
Thank you Ben for your answer. When I save a file with Kwrite, I can get only one frame on the left , the one where shortcuts are listed. When the window is enlarged --> no scrollbar. If I reduce the size of the window the scrollbar is displayed, in that case the minimum step got with the arrows is correct = one line. I just want the same with Dolphin ! A step less than one line appears to me as useless ... (I would like to get the same window as with Kwrite when I open / save a file from all applications in Kubuntu ...) Regards, Pierre |

File a bug against dolphin.
This looks like as if the view is set to ScrollPerPixel (to gain animated scrolling) but the singleStep() of the scrollbars hasn't been adjusted to compensate for that. |

You're right, the behaviour is indeed odd. I should have tested it before claiming it was ok

Bonjour,
Is this bug considered as solved ? I consider it is not ! I hope the step could be at least one line, like in the right frame. Pierre |
