Hello! New KDE user (Plasma 5.9.4) and loving it!
I'm curious, is there a way to have Dolphin show previews for PDFs/Images by default, rather than making me press the "preview" button on every subfolder? I have thousands of folders for which I'd like to see previews of the contents right away, rather than after pressing the button. Thanks |

Dolphin > Help > Dolphin Handbook
or (Ctrl + m will show/hide the menu bar) Dolphin > Control > Help > Dolphin Handbook 3. Configuring Dolphin > The View Properties Dialog

KDE Frameworks 5 thumbnailer plugin is the ffmpegthumbs : https://cgit.kde.org/ffmpegthumbs.git/ Do you have it installed ? Some distributions use the wrong path for plugin libraries: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1574037 What is your distribution/version ? ------------EDIT-------------- Thumbnailer plugin + settings 1) The KDE applications can show a thumbnail for a file if there is a thumb creator plugin installed for the file type. 2) After installation the plugin need to be enabled. With the KDE Applications 17.12 the Dolphin is enabling the plugins by default: https://phabricator.kde.org/D7440 With the Dolphin 17.08.3:
