i found the below about pinning various files and folders to the top of a folder in nemo and i think it's a great idea. the majority of the time a user has a set of folders and or files they access far more than anything else and it would be nice to have quicker access to them by simply having them pinned to the top of their parent folder.

Seems like an interesting idea. Certainly not implemented in plasma yet.
A couple of ideas you could use now, based mostly on having shortcuts or quick links to them: * Drag the file to the desktop or panel to create quick links or folder view widgets for them. * Pin them to Plasma Activities by right-clicking on them and using the activities sub-menu, then use the activities:/ view in the file manager to view them * Create a quick-access folder and add links to the files in that folder (and use the above suggestions to provide quick access to them).

That's a great find! I installed the `nemo` package just to check it out again, then realized that it was just committed a few days ago... This makes a lot more sense to me than adding a bunch of items to the "Places" / "Favorites" list along the left edge of most file managers. |
