Remove Default Places

Fri Sep 17, 2021 8:55 am
Hi all,

I wanted to remove redundant default "places", and add directories relevant to me. However, the context menu doesn't offer to remove default entries, only edit. As a result, 8 is the minimum number of places that I can have.

The following "Test" entry shows a remove option, as it didn't exist by default.

Is there a rationale for this behaviour, or am I missing something (the Wiki doesn't mention it)?

My environment:
  • Dolphin version: 20.12.2
  • KDE Frameworks 5.83.0

You can hide everything you don't want to see (choose "Ausblenden"), and add additional places.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Thanks! That's an obvious enough solution. Still seems a bit illogical that one can edit but not remove them.

Not illogical regarding these are folders most people rely upon. I certainly do need nearly all of those (maybe except video) and have two more I added for my everyday work.
