Cannot see preview of files named Jpeg but jpeg works fine.
Krita saves files with capitalized file extensions- this prevents a file preview.

I can't replicate this by renaming a jpg to Jpeg but I don't have files created with Krita

If you rename a jpg to Jpeg does it preview?

The properties of your Jpegs are "type: JPEG image"?

version of KDE and distro?

clarification you mean JPG is giving you a problem, not Jpeg as referenced in initial post?

if you rename a jpg to JPG does it preview?

The properties of your JPGs are "type: JPEG image"?

can you place a JPG that won't preview on photobucket.com so I can see if I have issues?

something to try, but it shouldn't be needed let alone make a difference

system settings -> file associations -> image -> jpeg -> general -> file patterns -> add -> *.JPG

do you have same issue for a new/different user?

Apparently there is an issue with the file size - i reduced the 4.8m on my desktop to a 165k image with the same extension and it shows a preview.
Must be a bad combo

I thought "renaiming file JPG > jpg and rebooting makes preview possible"

There's a setting for that: settings -> general -> previews -> do not create previews for

I suspect in this case the issue may be the size of the images in question. Open Dolphin > Settings > Configure Dolphin > General > Previews. Increase the size of 'Local files above' to 6mb or greater.

Make sure 'Images (GIF, PNG, BMP...)' and 'JPEG Images' are checked as being enabled for previews.
