I use the Opera Browser link panel to select an url(ie. *.jpg, *.exe.*rar) and drag and drop it into a dolphin folder. It works wonderfully except when I select multiple urls and attempt to do the same thing, only one link is saved into dolphin instead of them all.

ImageAttempting to drag and drop
Imageonly one file is saved :(

When I copy the urls it resides in memory and dolphin is able to paste the contents to a text file.

I named the text file links

Image the links were copied from memory but kio I think is unable to write multiple files to dolphin.

How can I get this to work like I want it to?

If you select multiple files inside Dolphin itself, then try to copy/move them, is only the first file affected by any chance?

I copy/move multiple files from one dolphin folder to another with ease. If the screenshots aren't descriptive enough, you can re-create the issue with opera.

I think I could reproduce this problem with Firefox (by copying URLs from the sidebar and then pasting in Dolphin). After having a quick look at the source, I believe that the bug is in kdelibs (to be precise, in KUrl::List::fromMimeData()).

I'll try to have a look.

That would be great. Dolphin is the best filemanager I've ever had the pleasure of using, now it'll get even better.

Just a quick update: I just spend quite a bit of time trying to debug this. It's a lot more complicated than it looks at first sight: the mime data object (which is used for passing information about drag&drop/copy&paste between applications) created by Firefox does not get parsed correctly by Qt (the library that KDE is built upon), but I can't say where exactly the problem is. It's definitely not in Dolphin code though. When I find some time, I'll post a bug report for kdelibs and hope that someone with more knowledge about mime data and URL list parsing has an idea.

Thanks for the update. If you're correct about the bug being in qt, isn't it possible that it still resides in the recently released Qt5?

Qt 5 has not been released yet (only an alpha version). I'm not even sure if the bug really is in Qt, so I can't say if Qt 5 will still be affected or not.

Apparently this was not a KDE issue, this has been resolved by the Opera browser devs.

DSK-368636 [Linux/FreeBSD] Multiple selected urls can't be dragged and dropped from links panel to filemanager

P.S The opera version it was fixed in is:
Version: 12.50 internal
Build: 1583
