Visual glitches - feedback request

Fri May 11, 2012 8:20 pm
Problably not Dolphins but qt/kdelibs or even nvidia bug, but affecting Dolphin badly. Happens on any GUI style and qt backend. Can someone confirm this on Intel/ATI graphics chips?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open fresh Dolphin window
2. Open new tab
3. Switch tabs
4. Open any child window (e.g. rename or properties)
5. Switch tabs

Sorry, but I could neither reproduce this, nor see the "glitch" in your video. Can you provide more details please?

Take a look at this part of window during tab switching before and after child window is opened.

Are you referring to the flickering that occurs when switching between tabs?

Thanks. I saw similar behavior in Konqueror, back in KDE 3.x days, but there toolbar was affected and probably still is.

Peter, can we have your opinion, please?

I'm a little confused. Nope - you are not sure. Or, nope - you won't share a log file? ;)

Sorry, gedgon, I was a little slow on that one... I was just looking for that file and realising I don't have one I posted the above. I ran the script just now and here is the output:
Start of NVIDIA bug report log file. Please include this file

Np, but Ark failed here. Try:
Code: Select all
gunzip nvidia-bug-report.log.gz

Thank you. Looks standard to me. You are not using backing store, and indeed with backing store disabled, flickering dosen't looks that bad but yet occurs.
