Hello everyone.
I have problem with dolphin when it comes to display/view files which have a long name, it is really annoying how these files effect the view mode either by extending the space between files or making terrible scrolling & navigating the file. Samples : ![]() also http://im26.gulfup.com/2012-06-07/1339025503781.png I heat to say it, but windows explorer & other file manager handle those files much better by shorten the viewed name with only two pieces of line then followed by (...) to indicate that the file's name has been shorted. However, I searched for such an option in dolphin configuration & view properties but unfortunately I didn't find anything relevant. Now if there is a way to adjust the view & handle the file with long name problem, I hope some one can guide me for it. Otherwise, a plan should be made to fix this problem in the next release because it the basic thing that file manager can handle also improving the functional options is more important than adding additional options. Brilliant Deve Best Regards . |

Can't remember if this is available in 4.8, but in 4.9 beta 1, there is an option to handle this, albeit differently from windows :
In settings, choose the "Display Modes" section, "Icons" Tab : there is an option called "Maximum lines". The default is "unlimited" but you may limit to a number between 1 and 5. You may also adjust the text width.
