Hello!
I am running KDE 4.8.4 on Arch Linux with dolphin plugins and subversion installed. I tried to use the SVN plugin just now and it did not work, i.e. there was no feedback when trying to check out a repository. I started dolphin in konsole and on doing Right click > Actions > Subversion > Check Out From Repository... the following error is printed in konsole:
I am at a loss. Any hints or tips on further steps? Thanks and Best Regards, Michael

Hi Michael,
I don't know about your problem, but this is not the Dolphin SVN plugin. Weird as it sounds, the SVN plugin does not offer a checkout option yet and only comes into action after you have a checkout (notice you need to enable it before in the options). I guess that the context menu you see comes from KDESVN, so maybe you can research in their reported bugs. |

Thanks for your input.
I enabled Subversion in the 'Configure Dolphin > Services > Version Control Systems (checkmarked Subversion)'. I could not find any package named kdesvn, most likely that one is inside some other kdesdk package... This issue is not that important, since SVN update / commit ... all work for existing working copies. Maybe this checkout is a stub as you suggested and there never was the intention to provide a checkout from repo... Anyway, sufficiently solveable for me so marking as such. Thanks again, Michael |

The package is community/kdesvn, and it is indeed their context menu. Here's a screenshot to show the difference:
![]() The whole submenu "Subversion (kdesvn)" is from kdesvn, and so are the upper update and commit actions in the root menu. The 4 entries from "SVN Update" to "Show SVN Updates" come from the dolphin-plugins. Also the icon overlays above the files come from dolphin-plugins. I hope this makes things a bit more clear. |

Thanks for the screenshots, I double checked and installed kdesvn. I installed the kde meta package and thought kdesvn had been installed with it so I only queried local packages the first time I checked.
The screenshot is just for reference. The Subversion (kdesvn) works as advertised, i.e. with all SVN functionality including checkout from repo. The action you see below was the one I meant in my original post and which did (does) not work. The 4 entries you mentioned are available in a SVN working directory though. ![]() |

Perhaps you have a service menu installed which provides this?
KDE Sysadmin
