I recently updated my Kubuntu 10.04 to 12.04, and then updated it with the Kubuntu backports to KDE 4.9. My problem is that I can't see any way to search according to tag from Dolphin - I know the functionality must be there, because the tags exist and clicking on one shows all the other files with the same tag, but I don't have any UI for tag searching.
I've seen a few screenshots where there is supposed to be some sort of a Search toolbar icon and tag panel, but those are missing and the Search option is not in Configure Toolbars either. Has this functionality been changed and moved somewhere else, or is there perhaps something wrong with my installation or Dolphin configuration? Has Kubuntu messed it up, or could it be something left over from the distro upgrade? |

On my system I am offered "filename" and "content" search options when pressing Ctrl + F in Dolphin - however I can confirm that Tag based searching is unavailable at the moment (in terms of a user interface at least). As a workaround to this, Dolphin should allow you to bookmark tag searches you perform by clicking on the tag names - allowing them to be easily accessed.

Thank you for confirming this. It looks like Dolphin 2.1 is a step backwards in usability - tag based searching was about the only thing I used Nepomuk for and now it's been made excessively difficult to use, and renaming files in separate dialog is also gone...

If feature requests or bug reports do not exist for those two, I suggest making reports on bugs.kde.org.
