Hi all,

I am new on this forum, since I begin with KDE after having used Gnome for a while.

I would like to know if it is possible to edit the Open With menu of Dolphin (when ones right-click on a file) after having checked Remember application association for this type of file.

I tried to do it from the System Settings > File Associations window, but it seems to be something different.

I spent lots of time trying to edit it, but I am not able to do it.

Can someone help me do this?

when you get to the open with and remember window if you check the remember box the app selected to open that file's type should now be the 1st one shown next time a file of that type is selected - you did select and run an app from this window?

also using file associations should work

it might be easier to explain if you specify what file type you're working on and what app you wish to open it with

You may find it easier to open the Properties of a file which matches the type you want to edit, then select the spanner icon beside the type to configure the file preferences for that type of file.
