Hello
![]() I'm not sure if this is dolphin related : with openSUSE 13.1 and kde 4.11.4 I have all the time a pannel showing me an external media , the pannel says it's an empty media , and dolphin can't open it. The pannel is always shown untill i click on it, this is a bit disturbing. How can i fix this problem please ? Thanks ![]() here's my hardware :

can you run the just the command: solid-hardware, does it provide a listing ? the tail (last 10 -> 20 or so lines) should be a list or your drives
when I execute it with the grep I get a list of drives including my usb flash drive

is there anything in /var/media/user_name ?
is this recent to you up'ing to 13.1 ? do other users see it ? fyi - the reason that the grep command didn't work for you is I alias grep to "grep -i" so case is ignored |

sorry meant /var/run/media
run Dolphin as root and see if it shows creating a 2nd user is a good way to test and determine if the problem is in your configuration files |

i have a similar result :
kdesu dolphin gives the same info : removable media is shown , clicking gives this : ":An unspecified error has occurred: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken." shall i go into the bios and remove something about floppy disk ? i can't enter my bios for my keyboard is not well managed byt my motherboard (asrock p43 twin 1600 ) , if so i'd need to flash the MB 1st of all. http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/P43Twins ... oad&os=All see v 2.10 in 2009

hi
![]() google : i answered above already ![]() here 's a picture : ![]() notice that i might be wrong when i said "external" media, it's a media. actually i think i shall enter the bios and may be fix something there about floppy disk so that it's not going to disturb anymore , but so far i can't for my keyboard is not well managed by the motherboard. How can i flash the bios , the help files are for dos/windows.

if you Google linux floppy disable you'll see various possible solutions for disabling a floppy like http://askubuntu.com/questions/29707/ho ... oppy-drive, you might want to search for an openSUSE specific solution
is your keyboard uses a usb connection that might be the issue, if so can you try one with a ps/2 connection (if supported by your motherboard) |

to see if there is a floppy kernel module running run:
if you look at the link I posted above note the suggestion appears Ubuntu specific: 1) the 2 update-_________ commands don't seem to appear in openSUSE 2) in openSUSE the blacklist file is: /etc/modprobe.d/50-blacklist.conf (at least on my system) |
