Thunderbird as mail client

Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:04 am
Bonjour,

With Dolphin, how can I get Thunderbird as default mail client through the context menu Actions / Send by email (Actions / Envoyer par courriel en pièce jointe).
Defining /usr/bin/thunderbird as default mail client in System configuration changes nothing.

Most entries in the context menu are not created by Dolphin itself, but by "Service menus", which are installed on my system in

/usr/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus/

They can be enabled or disabled in the "Services" section of Dolphin's settings dialog.

The "Send as Email Attachment" entry is provided by the file kmail_addattachmentservicemenu.desktop, which is installed by KMail. I found a similar Thunderbird service menu at

http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Th ... tent=19328

but it needs to be modified in order to work according to some comments there.

Thank you freinighaus for your answer.
Through Dolphin services installer I found kde-services but when I install it I get nothing. I don't know how to install a service with a *.rpm file.
And I don't know how to install the service with 19328-attach_thunderbird.zip !!
I am trying to use Kubuntu rather than Windows XP, I have much difficulties to understand the different ways to install files / applications in Kubuntu.

Now I use Mageia 5.
I installed thunderbird-servicemenu and everything is OK.
