clear/update sftp fingerprint

Tue Oct 07, 2014 10:12 pm
The fingerprint legitimately changed on my server. And when I try to use my saved sftp connection in Dolphin it warns me that the fingerprint does not match but does not give me any options. In FileZilla I get an option to accept the new fingerprint. I tried creating a new connection in Dolphin and it simply fails. How do I clear my saved sftp data in Dolphin? Or how do I get Dolphin to accept the new fingerprint?

You will need to remove the fingerprint from ~/.ssh/known_hosts if I recall correctly.
This can be done by running the following command:
Code: Select all
ssh-keygen -R <hostname> -f ~/.ssh/known_hosts

I got it cleared but forgot to come back and post about it. :< I am going to mark your answer right since it is, tho I didn't try it. I believe I had opened the file in Kate and deleted the line.
