When using Dolphin file manager, I right click on a folder and hit "Open in new tab". It works fine but it opens it up in the background. Is there a setting or a way to open up any or all new tabs to the front? Similar to firefox where you have the choice of opening tabs in the background or to the front.
Using KDE 4.14.2 Thanks for any help you can give me. |

that's strange as my new tabs gain focus no matter how I open them

I don't remember it ever opening right away. I just never knew how to fix it. I was hoping there was a misc setting I was missing.

Well, I can confirm that right-clicking on a folder and choosing "Open in new tab" (or clicking on a folder with the middle mouse button) opens the tab in the background.
Choosing "Open a new tab" from the menu does open it in the foreground with focus though. And no, I don't think there is a setting for this in dolphin (there is in Konqueror, which you can use as filemanager as well). You might want to file a feature request. |

I thought I was going crazy. Thanks for verifying that. For the feature request. Do I just submit a post in the forums here or is there a specific place I need to submit it to? |

I remember reading somewhere (unfortunately cannot find it now) that this change is intentional. It also happens if you middle-click on a folder. I'm doubtful that the developers will add an option for it, but you can always try to submit a wishlist to http://bugs.kde.org.
