Dolphin and compressed files.

Fri Nov 13, 2015 11:41 am
Hi,
New here so please be gentle..
I am using Dolphin 4.13.3 on Ubuntu 14:04.

I have a large number of compressed files containing images. Some are compressed in *.zip format and some in *.rar format.
When I click on a zip file, the images appear as thumbnails on the next screen, still within Dolphin. When I click on a rar file, the program redirects to Ubuntu's default compressed file manager (Archive manager). Thumbnails are not visible under this program. The only way I can get to see thumbnails of images in rar files is to extract them and then view the folder in Dolphin.

Is there any way to make Dolphin behave the same way for rar files as it does for zip files? that is to display the file contents as thumbnails?

Any and all help appreciated.
Many thanks.

Kind regards, Pat.

Thanks....

Quite an old bug report. I suppose I should abandon hope of it ever being resolved.

Regards, Pat.
