I'm coming from a Unity experience and normally if I need to mount a img file it was just basically a double click away. I am not sure how this is accomplished in Dolphin/KDE.
Can anyone explain? Thanks |

add the kio_iso package, then it will show in Dolphin in the Places panel under Devices
actual path will be /run/media/user_name/

Says I have kio plugins installed I believe. A lot to choose from though. Wonder why I don't see it.

you don't see it because it was a KDE 4 pkg and I have no idea how the functionality is currently provided, though it works fine for me
do you have these 2 installed: kio-extras & kio-extras-data does the Device Notifier (in system tray) offer options for the disk |

No when I click on it I get a popup that is the open-with pop up to select a program.

wait - you're taking a file not a physical disk? my bad
afaik there no built in way to mount an iso file by clicking, though you could use ark to view the iso then extract selected files also you could: - use acetoniso if available to mount it (note crashes dolphin when I try it) - use the mount command in Konsole - there is a mount iso service menu though not sure is will work on 5, Dolphin -> settings -> configure Dolphin -> services -> download new services -> search for: simple mount, update: note: this didn't work for me even after dl'ing and putting in proper folder ~/.local/share/kservices5/ |
