Hello, everyone.

I've been using Kubuntu for my laptop, and moved to Arch Linux recently.
I installed plasma-desktop package on repository, and also installed dolphin package.
As I did in Kubuntu, I disabled tracking file transfer in notification settings, and logged out and in.
I expected native dialog to pop up when copying large files, but it doesn't show up.

Strange thing is, when I open dolphin by 'kdesu dolphin', expected dialog shows up.
But in normal cases, dolphin doesn't show any dialogs, but only shows green progress status on task bar.
How can I solve this problem?

Both the System Tray track and the Task manager progress need to be disabled before the window for the file transfer progress is available - earlier KDE Forums: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=131078 -> viewtopic.php?f=22&t=131078#p357736

I am new to KDE, so this is from a newbies perspective .... xD

The Notification shows the activity but no info like in Gnome, but all I had to do was unintuitively click on a "Green Arrow" to the right and all the expected info and more shows up. :D

ANd as an old school Linux Evangelist, I have been used to expecting problems, BUT NOW,

with KDE Neon, I expect easy and awesome solutions, and this was no exception.

WooHoo - Cheers, Mark >:D

Hi all,

I understand the answer here, but what if I want **BOTH** of file transfer dialogue and Task manager progress?

I got used to Windows, whose default behaviour is to show dialogue with task bar progress, and I want it here, too.
Besides, only one of two method of notification is not enough feedback for me of what is happening within my (or remote, especially) file system, so I make mistakes of moving files while they are already being transferred, resulting in some problematic situations.

sorry but in windows when you copy / move files you ONLY get the popup progress indicator, unless you are manually enabling something else. i was running windows since 95 and occasionally experimenting with linux waiting for it to be ready for prime-time.

ok boyz and girlz how about actually trying to help peeps resolve this. thanks

that said i have the notifications and task manager configured correctly, but still no copy / move progress window. this is on a fresh install of kde neon. there must be something under the hood of the os blocking it. any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
