1. On Windows OS, right-click shows recent folders.
On dolphin file manager in kde plasma, a right-click on it shows no option like this. 2. There also no such other option anywhere apart from the taskbar to access recent documents. I could only find this feature request- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137797.

KDE Nepomuk produces a list of recently opened files. You can call it from the location bar in Dolphin by typing timeline:/
The result depends on the settings of Nepomuk and strigi Also under ~/.local/share/RecentDocuments you can find a list of recently used files |

Current KDE (KF5) History / Recent Documents
KDE Frameworks 5.28 & Plasma desktop 5.8.4 - KInfocenter: https://www.kde.org/applications/system/kinfocenter/ The recent document links are saved to the ~/.local/share/RecentDocuments as desktop files. Recent Documents can be launched from the Kickoff and from the location: ~/.local/share/RecentDocuments (click the desktop file). Full image: http://imgur.com/luFd39a An example desktop file:
The documents can be removed with the KIckoff laucher: The Recent Documents can be added to the Dolphin places menu: |

Dolphin panel "Recent" includes recent files and recent locations. Because for some reason the default entries must have got corrupted on my system and showed very old stuff (https://unix.stackexchange.com/q/691066/341192.) I have found that `timeline:/calendar/` and `timeline:/today/` in Dolphin show both files and folders recently accessed.
Adding them to "Places" in Dolphin adds them automatically under the "Recent" panel (therefore this shouldn't be hidden), which makes me think the `timeline` protocol is the one used by that panel anyway. The main difference between the default view and the one provided by `timeline:/` is that this does not separate files from folders. |

You do realize that you are using Plasma 5, not Plasma 4, so your comment is about a completely different version. Please check the date of the posts you are replying to...
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
