Hi,
I very often use the embedded terminal in dolphin. Shortcut for open/close is F4. Fine. But regularly after some commands I need to switch the focus back to the main pane (where files and folders are shown), to apply some shortcuts there (CTRL-I (Filtering), CTRL-X, etc.). It annoys me a little that I have to reach out for the mouse just to switch the focus. The same happens the other way around, switching from the main pane to the terminal. I already looked for a shortcut, but did not find something useful. Did I miss something? Or is there a reasonable way to setup such a functionality by myself (maybe including a tool like https://github.com/autokey/autokey? Personally, I think it would be consistent to have such a shortcut set up by default for the following reasons: * There is a default shortcut for switching between windows (usually ALT+TAB) * Such a basic application like file system browser should be useable (with ideally all of its features) without the need for a mouse Edit: I am using Dolphin 4.14.2 under debian stable (jessie). |

+1. The way I do this at the moment is press F4 twice to hide, and then show the console again. It's a bit cumbersome.
(dolphin is awesome otherwise) |

So, this is simple as pressing Tab twice from the main pane (Folders) to go to the embedded terminal.
To go back press Shift+Tab twice again. If you hide the Zoom Slider you can get back and forth with one Tab/Shift+Tab. I wished it was only one Tab, but this is a closer shortcut than F4 twice, in my opinion. |
