Hello,
I have a NAS on my private network with some NFS shares. I added them to my /etc/fstab file ; here is one of them : 192.168.1.3:/volume1/backup /media/syno_backup nfs rw,user, noauto, noatime In Dolphin, I show the Places panel. I can see my NFS shares listed under the Device sub-category, with names like /volume1/backup on 192.168.1.3 I would like to shorten these names and put my own, so I right click on these entries and select Edit... and insert a custom name. But unfortunately, each time I close Dolphin, these custom names are lost and when I re-open Dolphin, all the entries are back to previous, like /volume1/backup on 192.168.1.3 Am I doing something wrong or am I missing something ? I must add that mounting, unmounting and usage are ok, everything works fine (although the first mount seem quite slow compared to my other computer with another DE) Thank you Fedora 26 KDE spin up-to-date KDE Plasma 5.10.1 Dolphin 17.04.1 |

No. Dolphin doesn't support renaming devices at all. That the entries were editable was a bug that got fixed recently: https://cgit.kde.org/dolphin.git/commit ... 36ddf9bb6e |

Thanks for the answer
I'm new to KDE and Dolphin, and didn't know I was "renaming devices". I only thought it was some kind of shortcut/link/bookmark name. |
