How do I change the Trash icon in Dolphin?
I have changed all icons in Places but that one. I can change it but when I close and return to the application, the default one is back. I'm using KDE Neon - Plasma 5.10.5 I selected Breeze Dark theme before I started to change everything. Is there anything else I can tell in order to ask for help in this kind of questions? I think the characteristics of my computer are irrelevant. I'm a newbie so my knowledge in Linux is still very poor. In fact I'm still trying to abandon the Windows world. One of the things I like most is the possibility to configure almost everything. Thanks in advance! |

I solved this by editing the "trash.desktop" file with KWrite.
For the trash I chose two icons that I liked and I saved in png format at:
The example name I used is: new-icon-trash-full.png new-icon-trash-empty.png I changed these two lines on "trash.desktop" file with KWrite:
with the name of new trash icons:
Then I saved and trash had the new icon ready. Surely there will be a better way to do it, but I do not know it. |

I also noticed that weird trash icon showing as a folder and I just wanted to let you know what I clicked that made it work though your method of editing the .desktop file was probably for the better. I clicked first on desktop view, then clicked folder view, then re opened the trash and the icon switched automatically to the correct trash icon.

Where / How can I find that trash.desktop file in order to edit it?
I'm only looking for the one that has to do with the PLACES. I know where to find the one in the Desktop if I had a trash in the Desktop. Thanks! |
