I'm not really sure what to write.
I want my files sorted alphabetically including by number (1, 2, 3, 4), but then when I set Dolphin to do that it screws up folders which are ordered by number. I have 17 folders. Each one is labeled with the corresponding numbers 1 to 17, followed by the lowercase letter A. Instead of displaying in order they're displayed in a rather odd pattern. What I'd like to see is this:
2a [...] 16a 17a This is not what I'm getting. Instead, I get this.
11a 12a [...] 17a 1a 2a 3a [...] 9a Can someone please explain how Dolphin is sorting these folders? This is not what it should look like according to your own documentation. I'd like to request an additional sort mode that factors numbers into the alphabetical sorting system so that I can achieve a sorting order as displayed in the first list while using the alphabetical the alphabetical sort order. I apologise if this has been requested before. I have tried to find threads and information relating to this but I've not had any luck with it. Thanks. ~Xyr |

If numbers are involved then you must use the same number of digits eg 001-999. Dolphin will then sort in order 001-009, 010-019, 020-029 etc

Is there any reason that Dolphin does not automatically factor this in? AKA, why am I being forced to manually add in leading 0s? |

Actually, the Natural Sorting in Dolphin is supposed to sort strings of numbers numerically and not require them to be padded with 0s.
Tested in both plasma 5 - Dolphin 17.12.3, plasma 5.12, frameworks 5.44.0, and plasma 4 - KDE 4.14.13.
