search with baloo and dolphin

Fri Dec 07, 2018 2:12 pm
Hello from France,

I went to kubuntu 18.04 recently. My PC was running great. But Dolphin's search did not find my files. I understood that Baloo was responsible for building the database for this research. I set Baloo to look for my files in the right place. First, the performance of my PC have become realy bad. But now I've limited it to only one data folder, so indexing is no longer a problem.

Unfortunately, the search is not operational under dolphin:
  • in the search bar dolphin (mode "search for file name" "everywhere"), I typed nanita 5 minutes ago, it shows me zero folder, zero file, but the search icon is still mobile.
  • on the console, the command "baloosearch nanita" gives me the list of files that contain this word (in the name or in the content) in 0.683329 ms !
Why ?

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue and I'm using Neon.
Any solution available?

What is the answer ?? Surely there must be a reason that basic searching does not work ?? ! I have the same issue, and find it frustrating to find a solution ..

Please help.
