Hey! I tried to move a folder to the trash but the folder's size was bigger than the space allocated for the trash, so the moving failed but when I went to the place where the folder where located I found it empty and all data were gone, so any ideas about what happened?

Hi ahmedsaleh,
normally when the folder is too big for the trash, you get a warning that the things you are trying to trash will be deleted permanently, did you get such a message?.
Running Kubuntu on two computers (one dual boot and one as single OS), were it not for gaming; I would ditch Winblows completely!.

If you know the exact name of the folder, open Dolphin (Dolphin > Find) and use the search function (select everywhere if necessary) to see if anything with the same name is on your PC!.

I definitely get a message here in current Dolphin, are you sure you did not just inadvertently click the message away by agreeing to the warning?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Yes, I've tried this and didn't find anything, unfortunately |

Yes! I'm sure it started moving the folder to the trash immediately, but if the folder is permanently deleted, is there any way to restore it? |

well, if it is not in the Trash, then no, you can't restore it.
The only way is to restore it now from a backup.

If you are lucky you might be able to recover the files, the following is for ubuntu/Debian based systems and you just need to find the respective app for your system if your system is not Ubuntu/Debian based!:
