Hey guys. I am trying to build the KDE application for the first time with intention to getting involved further in the project.
I am following the instructions to build Dolphin by reading the steps given in this page: https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/development

I followed the same instructions as given there but, unfortunately, during build I see the log that the configration of dependencies are failing.

For example:
Building kcoreaddons (build system KDE) from frameworks (3/80)
Cloning kcoreaddons
Source update complete for kcoreaddons: 212 files affected.
Preparing build system for kcoreaddons.
Running cmake...
Unable to configure kcoreaddons with CMake!
Unable to configure kcoreaddons with KDE

It's the same for every dependency including Qt. (I have attached a log of other dependencies: https://pastebin.com/8nanj5Sv )
I tried to add --verbose to check for a detailed log, but that's where it was showing that configure was failing.
I am not sure where I am going wrong. Does the user not have permission (like sudo) to build?
Could you please help me point what the problem is?

EDIT: Updated info in below comments

After seeing more log files, it looks like because Qt failed to setup correctly, the rest of the dependencies also failed as it requires:

Qt5Config.cmake
qt5-config.cmake

Qt log shows:-

ERROR: The OpenGL functionality tests failed!
You might need to modify the include and library search paths by editing QMAKE_INCDIR_OPENGL[_ES2],
QMAKE_LIBDIR_OPENGL[_ES2] and QMAKE_LIBS_OPENGL[_ES2] in the mkspec for your platform.

What are the include or search paths here?

Got it through. Many external dependencies were missing.

Hey vin221 I'm in the same situation.

How did you determine which dependencies were missing?
