I got this line when I entered Dolphin: Unable to create io-slave. klauncher said: Error loading '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/file.so'.
I have noticed that Audacity is not able to be removed. It launches but in konsole it says it isnot installed and on Discover also. I just did the update which did not work on Konsole but gave 170 approx. updates on Discover. This is what I am running: kde neon 5.17 kerenel 5.0.0-37- shell bash 4.4.20 plasma 5.17.5 ram 16 core intgel i5 6600k Is it a virus? Do I update too often? Each day? Sys tem is definittely compromised. Just wanted to say thanks. Forgot the golden rule of restarting affter an update..especially large ones. Also was able to get audacity to go by using: sudo snap remove audacity. Not sure if there is a way to show this as sloved other than accepting the answer. Thanks again for your fast and accurate response.

Have you logged off or rebooted since an update? This sort of message and the other issues often happen when old libraries are still loaded in ram, and conflicting with the new ones.
Also try updating from the konsole, and see if maybe there were some updates you did not get, perhaps. Def not a virus or a compromised system.
