Not sure if im in the right place,, I am trying to download several programs to my PC but on executing i get sorry KIO Client this is an executable program,, and it wont allow me to open anything,,, Can I change this?

You need to be a tad more precise:
What exact Plasma version do you use, on which distribution? (see KInfoCenter)
What kind of program do you want to download?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
