I have been working for hours trying to get the Dolphin search to show hidden files and folders.

I understand the the Dolphin search uses the baloo file index.

I see that in the baloo configuration file (#HOME/.config/baloofilerc) support adding this option:
index hidden folders=true

I have set this option, purged and rebuilt my baloo index multiple times.

I am not getting any inotify or other errors with:
journalctl --identifier baloo_file

Does this actually work?

I have read so many threads of others struggling with getting search to work in Dolphin. Many users end up saying they gave up on Dolphin search and baloo all together. I have read that baloo is an unmaintained project so I am not sure if I am wasting my time? A functional search seems like such a basic operating system task that should "just work" out of the box.

I guess I have one questions: Is it possible to click on the search icon in Dolphin and find a hidden file or folder?
