Hi to all. I readed some forums and articles about this problem but i have one question: Why i can't open dolphin with kdesu. Also i can't open systemsettings5 with kdesu. I am typing kdesu systemsettings5 entering root password but nothing is happening. Kdesu can open other apps like kvantummanager but can't open kde apps. All these are happening on Arch Linux and kdesu is installed. With openSUSE TW i don't have this problem. I can open every kde app with kdesu. Do you guys have a solution for this? Thanks in advance.

Opening the systemsettings with kdesu would open the settings for the root-account which should not be used with a graphical environment. What do you want to achieve?
Generally, opening gui-tools with administrative permissions is not supported as it breaks the user permissions calling. You should consider using PolicyKit for the tasks you have to do with advanced permissions. If you want to edit e.g. /etc/fstab, just open it as user, edit it and on saving it will ask for a (user and) password with appropriate permission. |

Hi - my distro (opensuse leap) had a second Dolphin icon in KDE which you click to open Dolphin as root. I looked in the properties of the icon and found this command is what is used... (it might help)
