Hello, I have a question about the search in dolphin (Version 19.12.3): I have a directory that contains a file named "twrp-3.3.1-1-oneplus3.img". With ctrl-f the file is not found neither with the search string "twrp" nor "oneplus". Even if I rename the file or change the extension, it still will not be found. Do you have any hint what might be the problem? Or any dolphin settings I might have look at?

What are the properties of that file, e.g. is it set to hidden?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

File permissions are
Code: Select all
-rw-rw-r--

Even if I type the exact filename, dolphin doesn't find it.
Code: Select all
locate twrp-3.3.1-1-oneplus3.img

does find the file.

is baloo really up and running? Any file or directory exclusions in baloo? Please check if you find it after running
Code: Select all
balooctl check

I have balooctl check run every day. None of the exceptions apply to this folder. But thanks for the hint. So I know now that this is a baloo problem *sigh*.
Code: Select all
baloosearch oneplus
doesnt find the files either. I really love baloo but I keep running into weird issues like this. After I manually
Code: Select all
balooctl index ./twrp-3.3.1-1-oneplus3.img
Dolphin will find it too. Any ideas why balooctl check won't index these files?

Ok, I found the solution. In "~/.config/baloofilerc" files with the extension ".img" are excluded by default.
