I'm new to KDE and was wondering is generating thumbnails on network shared folders supported ?

I store all my photos on a QNAP server, I have read/write access on the smb shared folder but KDE does not generate any thumbnails like windows & macos do.

If I copy the files to the local pictures folder on KDE, the thumbnails appear, am I missing some configuration setting ?
