I would like to know if it is posible for Dolphin when installed into a other distro than Kde, to copy and past file and directories to the desktop.
Because Dolphin is able to show thumbnails for much more graphical files than Nemo ( file manager in Linux Mint ) I have installed Dolphin in Linux Mint 20.2 for that reason.
My question is with Dolphin I am not able to copy and past to the desktop in Linux Mint. Is there a way to solve this situation?

Does Mint's desktop actually support physical files on the desktop?

Plasma by default uses the 'folder view' layout that displays the user's ~/Desktop folder (or a user-specified one). it also has a layout called "Desktop" that does not display any folder contents at all. You might need to ask Mint people about this, as this probably is not a KDE related issue.

Shure it does, like so many other distro's do!

I don't see where this has to do with Linux Mint. What I see is that I am able to copy and past file "inside" Dolphin to any place al. But what I want is from within Dolphin copy file and click on the desktop and past a file or directorie. This is a normal function in Linux Mint and most other distro's such as Mate for example.

O.k in the mean time I found another way witch is much better and I was not awere of. You can drag and drop files/directories from within Dolphin directly on the desktop. That's is something to remember, and work faster than copy and past.

Only it's not posible to cut a file/directorie from the desktop by copy/cut and past into Dolphin, the same happen when you do it with drag and drop into Dolphin. The file wil be copied but stays on the desktop, you have to manualy remove it from there.

Thanks for the help
