Hi,

I'm new linux user and I decided to use KDE on Ubuntu. I connect to various sftp account and work directly on server files. On each save I need to confirm to upload file and then I also need to specify if I want to overwrite that file or rename it. Is there a way to avoid that, so that when I save a file it's uploaded automatically with existing name without asking?

Another question, is there any way to sync from panel to panel? Is possible to constantly sync from one panel to another or I need to use some rsync or something similar?

Thanx for all answers.

That is not KDE or Dolphin specific but a simple security measure. The dialog should show you an option not to ask the question again and you can choose either overwrite or rename to be the permanent selection.
Syncing files to another location are typically made with a backup solution and rsync is probably the easiest one. That is also not really Linux specific as nearly all operation systems I know do it that way.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Hi,
I am using dolphin to mount FTP-Space. If I edit a file with Geany and save it there is always a confirmation window where I cannot check an option like "never ask again". Can somebody help me?

Thank you,
Stefanski

Why not use Kate instead if you are on Plasma anyway? Geany is based on the GTK toolkit and not KDE software, so the behavior is different

Hi Mamarok,
thank you for your answer. As I work with Geany since more than ten years I do not really want to change my editor. But I will try Kate now. :-)

Greetings,
S.
