Windows hosts can be found via WS-Discovery protocol since Dolphin 20.0.4. However since upgrading to KDE 5.23.3 (Dolphin 21.08.3) I've become aware that 'smb://' KIO no longer enumerates such Windows hosts. (Linux hosts are discovered using Avahi).

Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.3
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.15.5-lp153.2.g83fc974-default (64-bit)

Anyone else having this issue or able to advise further?

Further testing over the day or so established that WS-Discovery is working as expected, but only when wsdd (Web Service Discovery host daemon) is not active concurrently. The latter is used to advertise a Linux samba host via the WSD protocol so that Windows hosts can find such servers 'automatically'. Previously, Dolphin could find such Windows hosts and have wsdd (for reciprocal advertisement of samba shares) active as well. I'll have to research this change in behavior in further detail.

Windows host (advertising with WSD) ----> Dolphin (WSD client)

Samba host (advertising presence with wsdd) -----> Windows (and other WSD-aware) hosts
