Is there a way to change the keyboard shortcuts for konsole embedded in Dolphin? I would like to use embedded konsole more, but I can't see how to set the shortcuts to match what I have for standalone konsole.
Thanks for any help. |

I suppose you could open the embedded in dolphin>right click term>edit profile>keyboard. Somewhere in those settings there's also an option to set that particular profile as default in dolphin so you can use different profiles altogether if you like. https://imgur.com/a/XFTfTb9

There is a file, ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/konsole/sessionui.rc, with lines like so
What I don't understand is why embedded konsole doesn't use this file. I want to make ctrl-c be copy and ctrl-v be paste |

Ctrl+shift+v or c works fine in both standalone as embedded in dolphin terminal on my machine. You can change keyboard shortcuts in menu>settings>shortcuts. But I'd advise not to change that default copy/paste command though ( an existing binding to a sigint action etc..). And like I said, you can add custom shortcuts to a profile itself. But again, I wouldn't change the default. But I supose you could check if setting it to ctrl+c or v doesn't block some default action. I believe ctrl+c is set to kill a process by default. Depends on your system I guess.

I appreciate the answers.
I understand that ctrl-c has a long history as an interrupt. But I can't deal with every other window using ctrl-c to copy, except terminal. Besides, all the terminals seem to adjust (to making ctrl-c be copy) by making ctrl-shift-c be the interrupt automatically. Shortcuts seem to be independent of profile. Key bindings are associated with profiles, but I'm having trouble seeing how to change ctrl-c using the key bindings dialog. |

I looked it up and apparently this function has been asked for a long time now. It still hasn't been adressed. As far as I can tell, there is no ctrl+v as such in the dolphin terminal. Well, there is, but the function is set to pasting from the pinboard. If you want to paste something else, the right click menu entry "paste" is your only option. I changed the default ctrl+shift+ in konsole to crtl+ and only the copy function passes to the dolphin terminal. Not the paste shortcut. Maybe you can import a scheme, but personally, I wouldn't even know which one to get.

Thanks for all the replies. I thought maybe there was a little-known solution someone could share.
