Hello,
I work with Ubuntu and XUbuntu several years and I like it to use keyboard shortcuts. Now I installed Tuxedo OS 1 which uses KDE Plasma. Dolphin is the default file manager for KDE Plasma. I like Dolphin, it has lot of amazing features. Now I tried to define a keyboard shortcut to open a file with kate. However, it seems to be not possible in Dolphin. I tried to define a shortcut for a custom action. It seems to be not possible to define a shortcut for a ServiceMenu action. Dolphin is such a nice tool with such lot of features. Is it actually not possible to define a shortcut for a user action? Thanks in advance Dirk |

Although I hate keyboard usage, I've tried this before. I tried custom shortcuts, scripts, desktop file.....no cigar. For some reason I can't get it to work. You can try it yourself, create a custom shortcut with, say, a parameter kate %f, assign a key combo to it....won't work. I've created a whole bunch of servicemenus, none work with a custom shortcut. Straight command, in desktop application form..whatever, zero. Although it works running it in a terminal in form of script, direct command etc..., the key combo on the particular file will only result in a action icon hovering over it.

Look at the date....

Description nandou 2010-12-16 12:31:38 UTC Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.2) OS: Linux It would be nice (and probably easy?) to be able to assign shortcuts keys to custom menu actions. I found this need because I'm trying to change the "delete files" behavior, to move to trash and delete after 5 minutes. I made a script, a custom action menu for dolphin, but I would like to associate the action with the DEL key (or other), but I cant find a way... Thanks
