lets say i copy a file to the drive, linux obliges me, but then it pops up and says, "could not change permission settings for the file ....." or something to that affect. So what i am seeing is that linux has an attribute that windows does not (no surprise there) and linux can not set it on an nt partition.

THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE!!

The issue is this, lets say i want to back up 1,000 files, this pop up "pops up" for each and every file, i can ignore it and just click ok one time after the copy is complete, because the pop up seems to only allow one instance of itself, BUT if i do not click ok, then i cannot access any other instances of dolphin file manager until i acknowledge the pop up.

So while as i said this is not a problem, its just an annoyance, as i would like to continue to do other things while copying happens in the background.

Error messages cannot be "ignored all" since they generally may affect file integrity, etc. The actual solution would be to fix it in the Kernel. You may wish to file a bug at bugs.kde.org however.

It would be nice to have the error messages to show up in the plasma notification slide instead of a popup. that's so last century anyway

another annoyance: if you don't have ntfs-3g installed and you "ctrl-v" to paste some files in there, nothing happens - no message at all

That should be considered as a bug, as a message should be shown if the medium fails to mount or is read only.
