Hi All,
I've used KDE on and off for quite a few years, but have recently started using it as my primary desktop at home. I'm on KDE4 (Fedora 11). My main file browser I use in Windows is a proprietry product called xplorer2, and has many advanced features that I find very useful, particularly in the split pane view. Could anyone tell me if any of the following are available in Dolphin (and if so how I can enable them) or in the pipeline for future releases? The list of features I most commonly use are: * Copy(Move) to opposite pane. * Mirror Browsing - links the split panes such that navigating a directory tree in one pane causes the equivalent path to be navigated in the opposite. Useful for navigating different code branches for example * User scripts - create commands that can be linked to keyboard shortcuts that use variables such as $P (path of selected item in active pane) $Q (path of selected item in inactive pane) $L (path of left pane) etc. I use this all the time for e.g. doing a diff on the selected item in each pane. Thanks in advance for any tips on how these can be done (if at all). |

Actually, don't worry - it looks like Krusader is what I am after.

To copy or move to the second pane of a split, simple drag and drop. You'll be asked whether to copy or move.
'Mirror Browsing' as far as I know is not possible in Dolphin. If you would find it useful you should open a topic in brainstorm.forum.kde.org To do a diff on two files as you describe we would normally do it in kompare. Unfortunately, at this moment it is not possible to do that directly from dolphin. I suspect this idea might get a lot of backing, so it should definitely be raised in brainstorm.

This is already in brainstorm: [dolphin] synchronized browsing mode

Thanks for the replies - yes I know you can drag and drop, but I am used to a file manager where I can do everything mouseless. Krusader fits the bill - and then some.
