kde faster than mv?

Sat Oct 31, 2009 9:30 pm
I just tried to transfer an 800MB tar file to a FAT32 flash drive (is there a better filesystem with windows compatibility?) using mv, but it hadn't even finished after 15 minutes.. So I then tried using dolphin to move the file, and kde did it in less than 3 minutes! Can anyone explain this?

btw, I remember when KDE was significantly slower at moving/copying files.. Great job!

Interesting. I know of no possible reason why this could happen, other than "mv" having already been mostly finished and therefore KDE not having to wait for very long ( due to disk cache's ).
