After using my desktop for a few minutes, dolphin won't open anymore. It works for a while after rebooting, but eventually it just won't open.
When I try to launch it in the commandline, I get this error:
That's it. I have all the debugging symbols installed. I can still launch konqueror.

Run it as
and that should make the crash dialog appear. If not, you need to use a debugger, following the instructions at http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tut ... sh_reports (pay attention to the nofork bit, which is relevant for dolphin).

Another thing to check for might be a hung Dolphin process. If this is the case, then Pino's instructions above will allow Dolphin to launch as it does normally.

Disabling nepomuk fixed the problem, and I don't have time right now to test further I'm afraid. I'll test more when I can.

I'm having a similar problem (kubuntu 13.10):
Here's the konsole output for $dolphin
I can see where the samba problem is coming from, but don't have a clue where the org::freedesktop thing is coming from. Any ideas? Thanks a ton! |

Those messages can be safely removed - they're likely harmless. In terms of Dolphin not starting, does it eventually open if you leave it for a long time? If it does, is there any additional output on the terminal, or odd behaviour you note about Dolphin (slowness, missing components or functionality, etc)?
