Okay, that is interesting. It seems the thumbnailer is only able to handle local URLs - on my system here it copies the file from the remote system to my computer in order to generate the thumbnail. I don't see any indication of that happening on your system though. Which version of Dolphin/KDE have you installed? (Should be visible from Help > About...)

Okay, I can't explain this then. I'll move it to the Dolphin forum however in case the Dolphin developers have any ideas as to the cause of this issue. It looks like it may be a Windows specific bug in the handling surrounding the thumbnail generation mechanism.

I'm afraid I do not have any ideas, sorry. I have very little knowledge about KDE on Windows, so I cannot say what might be the cause of the problem.

My first recommendation would be to upgrade from the rather outdated 4.10.2 to someting more recent, but I don't know if anything newer is available on Windows already.

Yea, May 3rd of 2013 is the latest and that's the one I have. Will I can deal with it until a new one comes out as long as I can view images from a Map Drive.
