I can't get my external HD to bootup to the grub menu...I had my Kubuntu going sweet I had everything to working (wifi, printer, blue tooth, etc), then I did a full upgrade and I lost everything. Now I can't even get the re-install work work again. Also, don't know how to change my internal HD back to booting up on windows 7 (without using the grub, before I installed kubuntu using an external HD)....the HD now shows a path that I'm unfamiliar with..../dev/sda1 (Recovery) /dev/sda2 (System Reserve), /dev/sda3 (must be my windows?). I can be reached at g8view@gmail.com.

You could try the Grub2 editor "A KDE Control Module for configuring the GRUB2 bootloader" in systemsettings running from a livecd
in the advanced tab is a install/recover boot loader function http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=139643 http://ksmanis.wordpress.com/2011/05/07 ... -easy-way/ http://kde-apps.org/content/preview.php ... 9bf8cd2f4b SuperGrub2, a livecd, should allow you to boot into your system "The primary purpose of Super GRUB2 Disk is to help you boot into an OS whose bootloader is broken" http://www.supergrubdisk.org/super-grub2-disk/ |

Thanks to google's link to supergrubdisk you should be able to at least boot your box again. If you require further assistance let us know more of your setup and what you want to achieve.
