screen saver daemon

Fri Nov 30, 2012 11:38 pm
Hi, I an using KDE4 and I need to find out what kicks off the screen saver and turn it off. I like the straight X screen saver that actually turns off the screen. Does anyone know what process I have to change or alter to allow for the X screen saver.

Thanks in advance for your help.

KDE Power Management has the ability to turn off the screen from what I know. It can be accessed at System Settings > Power Management.

Management of the Screen Saver itself should be through System Settings > Display and Monitor > Screen Locker. If you do not have "Screen Locker" you may have "Screen Saver" instead. Make sure "Start automatically after" is unchecked there.
