KDE 4.7.4
XUbuntu/KUbuntu 11.10 Hi, I can't get new, manually added, menu items to appear in my main menu ( KMenu?). I couldn't find it in the main menu, so after Googling I fired up kmenuedit from a command line. I added some menu entries there, saved, logged out of KDE, logged back in and those items were not in my menu. When I called up kmenuedit the items I added were still in there, just not appearing on the menu. I tried this signed in as myself and root. Any ideas on how I can get custom added menu items to show up? Thanks in advance either way Steve |

I'm having a similar issue except with me, I can't seem to remove entries. They keep coming back after o delete and them save.

4.7.4 is quite old, if possible I would upgrade to 4.9.x if I were you. It's possible that this is caused by a bug (I seem to remember reading about something similar to this).

My hardware is old. I had trouble upgrading to *Ubunutu 12.04 when it came out. I had to settle for 11.10. I know support for 11.10 is ending in April. I plan on getting a new box in March and putting the latest MINT on it. I will check back here for any ideas with my current software, if not I will live with it until March.

Does running the following in a terminal help?
Also, are you able to reproduce this under a new user? (Just in case your menu is damaged in some way).
