I'm looking to schedule a shell script to execute daily at a certain hour. I looked for a way to do that in the menus but couldn't find how to do it.
I asked on IRC and was told about cron / kron / kcron. I don't prefer it since it requires root to set up and also doesn't have a GUI. I read however that KDE has a task scheduler. The entry for that was supposed to be in the Configure Desktop menu, but I don't see it there. From the screenshots it seems that's exactly what I'm looking for... but maybe it got removed in KDE 4.10.0? Where is the Task Scheduler in the latest version of KDE? And is there a GUI I can use to schedule tasks at certain hours from my user account (no root)? |

no it's there under system admin -> task scheduler

Ahhh my mistake. That package wasn't installed, and I assumed it would be with KDE. I'm still not seeing the entry in Configure Desktop however... how do I update it? |

Thanks. I checked again and it actually shows automatically now... probably needed a few minutes to notice the change. Thanks for the help |
