I've partitioned my flash drive in Fat 32, Its in dev/sdb1,I went to use Unetbooten and it won't transfer my Mint iso operating system to the Flash drive it say "You must first mount the USB drive /dev/sdb1 to a mountpoint. Most distributions will do this automatically after you remove and reinsert the USB drive." It will not do it automatically , like it says and going into KDE partition manager the mount Hypertex ,which is under partitions, is grayed out, so of course it won't remount it. What can be done. In KDE PM it says right on the front panel, were it says mount point, there is nothing listed. It blank

Is the partition visible in the Device Notifier applet? If so, simply opening it in Dolphin will "mount" the partition and allow you to perform the installation.

For me the easiest way to put an iso on a USB-stick is to:

sudo dd if=path_to_iso.iso of=/dev/sdX

where sdX is the designation of the stick (to find that one out simple do a dmesg after having inserted the stick).

Still odd your stick didn't get mounted automagically... Did you follow bcooksley's instructions? What distro do you have? What does dmesg say after having inserted a properly functioning stick?

I switched to usb image writer and it mounted it just using it, I didn't have to do anything Had the same problem with gparted last year , couldn't mount it.

Please note that by default KDE will not automatically mount media, but it will offer to access the device (which will then trigger the mounting). There is a component shipped as part of KDE which does support performing automatic mounting, which can be configured through System Settings.

I just want to thank people here , they know what they are talking about and give answers that can be understood. It's common that when you need a advanced user to answer the question , they give you advanced complicated answers , so thank you.
